Nail Look: Matte Bad Gal

A matte pretty pink with a rebel edge.

  • This manicure started with a Seche Vite - Crystal Clear Base Coat

  • The next step was to apply a pretty pink color!
  • Designs were added with a two-way nail brush in black. Black nail drips, skull and gun accents look great with the matte pink.
  • NYX glitter was added to the thumbs!
  • To finish it off a matte top coat was applied to the entire look. I used Essie - Matte About You.

Nail Art Tutorial: Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Be sweet and cute wherever you go with this chocolate dipped strawberry nail design! Great for upcoming ❤Valentine's Day
my first attempt when i had the idea, the design works better on longer nails IMO

Works best on: mid length to long nails

Tools needed:
POLISH: red, yellow, green, brown (try to mix your own colors if you don't have the right shade)
TOOLS: dotter tool or pencil, my polishes have pen/art brushes so I won't using the tools this time)

start off with your nails clean, filed & ready to go!
paint 2 coats (or however many needed) of red as a base on all nails

make sure to run your brush across the edge to seal in the polish.
this helps prevent chipping.

base color all done
next using the tool of your choice (dotter, pencil or polish pen)
you're going to make the seeds on the strawberry
make rows of yellow dots in a quincunx pattern
after your seeds are all done, you'll be making the leaves

use diagonal lines to make 4 triangles in green. then fill them in
next you're going to make chocolate drips!
-start with 3 dots at random heights.
-drag the dots down to the free edge.
-make a "curvy" horizontal line under all three dots
-fill in the space
done!
complete design on all nails, seal in with a topcoat
and you're good to go!
Have fun.

No dotter, no problem. Nail art: using a pencil

Many people want fun and fancy nail designs without the hassle or cost of buying extra supplies. Theres no substitute for polish itself  (acrylic paints, we'll talk abut that next time), but a few of the tools can be duplicated just by what you may have lying around the house. This post is to show you that you don't always have to have the "right" tool to get the job done.

I've decided to compare a dotter tool and a pencil.
I chose a pencil since they are pretty similar in shape and size.
The pencil is sharpened to a dull point.

the challenger today is red nail polish, lets begin...

i dipped the dotter tool straight down into the polish
and made a row of 4 dots.

i did the same 4 dots on the other side with the pencil.

all done. see, they look pretty much the same. its a tie for me!
Don't fret if you see fun designs being done, but you dont have the tools. Look around at what you have, alter something, or make your own. Theres a way around most things. Hope I've inspired you to go paint your nails or try to make/find some new tools. Let me know if you find anything interesting.
